Your tasksAbout the role:
Apryl is seeking a highly experienced People and Culture Lead to develop and implement scalable people processes that will support the growth of the company. Reporting initially to one Co-Founder, and later to the Director of Operations, you will work closely with leadership to launch and manage core HR initiatives, including HR compliance, compensation and benefits administration, onboarding/offboarding, and employee experience. The position is based at Apryl’s headquarters in Berlin, Germany with close collaboration with the U.S.-based Human Resources team.
Tasks
- Oversee and execute all aspects of People Operations, including benefits and compensation administration, HRIS management, employee data management, payroll, and leave management.
- Manage a continuous performance management process that supports employee growth and development.
- Support organizational design efforts, including team structure and role design, to meet evolving business needs.
- Design and implement learning and development programs to support career growth and upskilling of the team.
- Conduct salary benchmarking to ensure competitive compensation practices and develop strategies for compensation adjustments.
- Act as an active and visible business partner, providing counsel, advice and recommendations to managers and directors on People-related matters
- Use data-driven HR metrics and analytics to develop insights and present actionable recommendations to stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making.
- Champion and drive the People agenda with a focus on culture, communication, employee engagement, and fostering a sense of belonging.
- Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to enhance the onboarding experience and ensure seamless integration of new hires.
- Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline and optimize people processes and policies, especially in response to organizational scaling.
- Ensure compliance with local employment laws, GDPR regulations, and other relevant legal requirements, updating policies and procedures as needed.
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading HR functions end-to-end with a focus on People Operations, preferably in high-growth organizations
- A strong understanding of HR compliance, employment law, and industry best practices
- Comfortable with ambiguity and motivated to build processes from the ground up
- Strong operational thinker, with a knack for solving problems and building solutions
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted partnerships and collaborate effectively across all levels of an organization, particularly during periods of significant growth and change.
- High level of confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to lead initiatives that promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Annual gross salary range for Berlin-based applicants: €80,000-90,000
